Rise Credits Loan is an independent loan-matching service based in Des Moines, Iowa. We help U.S. adults who need a small installment loan, typically between $500 and $5,000, connect with lenders and lending partners who may be able to make them an offer. We are not a lender, and we do not make credit decisions.

Most of the people who reach us have fair credit or are rebuilding after a rough patch. They want a clear answer on whether a personal loan makes sense, what it might cost, and how to compare offers without filling out the same form a dozen times. That is the job we set out to do.

Who We Are

We are a small team of editors, researchers and support staff working from our office at 7725 Chestnut Avenue, Suite 735, Des Moines, IA 50309. Our work splits into two parts: running the request form that passes your information to participating lenders, and publishing plain-language guides about borrowing.

We keep both parts deliberately simple. The form asks only for what lenders typically need to review a request. The guides explain costs, credit checks and repayment in ordinary words, with worked numbers instead of slogans.

Our Mission

Our mission is to make small-dollar borrowing easier to understand and easier to compare. Borrowers with imperfect credit often see the highest prices and the least transparent marketing. We believe they deserve the same clear information that borrowers with excellent credit get.

In practice, that means we:

  • Show APR and payment examples as labeled estimates, with the math done correctly.
  • Explain that lenders, not us, decide whether to make an offer and on what terms.
  • Encourage you to borrow only what you need and to read every loan agreement before signing.
  • Point out cheaper alternatives, such as a credit union loan or a payment plan with a creditor, when they may fit better.

How We Make Money

Our service is free for borrowers. We never charge you a fee to submit a request, view offers or use any tool on this site. Instead, we are paid by lenders and lending partners in our network, usually when a request is passed along or when a loan is funded.

That compensation can influence which offers you see and the order in which they appear. It does not change the rate or terms a lender offers you, because those are set by the lender based on its own review. Our Advertiser & Lending Disclosure explains the arrangement in more detail.

Editorial Standards

Every guide on this site is written or reviewed by our editorial team, and compensation from partners never decides what we write. Our editors work in defined roles:

  • Tessa Lindqvist, Senior Consumer Credit Editor, reviews every rate and payment example before it is published.
  • Owen Achterberg, Lending Research Lead, reads loan agreements, APR disclosures and fee schedules, and builds our comparison tables.
  • Priya Castellanos, Small Business and Budgeting Writer, covers cash flow, budgeting and keeping short-term borrowing small and planned.

We follow a few firm rules. We do not invent statistics or cite studies that do not exist. We hedge honestly, because terms vary by lender, state and credit profile. We correct errors promptly when readers point them out, and we update pages when lending rules or common practices change. If you spot something that looks wrong, write to us at [email protected].

What We Are Not

We want to be plain about this. Rise Credits Loan is not a lender, does not make loans, does not approve applications and does not set rates or fees. Submitting a request through our site does not mean you will receive an offer.

Rise Credits Loan is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to RISE Credit or Elevate Credit, or to any lender that uses the word "Rise" in its name. Any similarity in names is coincidental. Trademarks mentioned on this site belong to their respective owners, and references to them are for identification only.

Who We Serve

We serve adults across the United States who are looking for a personal loan in the $500 to $5,000 range for needs such as a car repair, a medical bill, consolidating a few high-interest balances or covering a short gap in cash flow. Availability depends on your state, because lenders in our network are licensed in some states and not others, and state laws limit loan amounts and costs in different ways.
